WHY WE CURATED IT:
We’ve had several Longines Octagons before, in different sizes, dials, lug styles and aspect ratios. They’ve been very popular on account of their beauty, elegance and affordability. Here, we have one in the smaller size, in the case version that’s longer than it is wide, with crab claw/rear-hooded lugs, feuille hands, cabochon-ed crown and broader strap. Also, as it’s a later iteration of the Octagons, you get the bonus of a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. The dial variant is the lacquered black gilt with Roman numerals. A very popular model and we can totally see why!
CONDITION:
9/10, with some small signs of use. Crystal, lacquered dial, hands, crown and cabochon are absolutely immaculate. New aftermarket strap and buckle, with original Longines buckle included. Caseback has crisp and deep engravings. Movement healthy with to-spec power reserve, adequate amplitude, very low beat error and accuracy within ±20 secs/day averaged from 6 timegrapher positions.
