WHY WE CURATED IT:
The Cartier Colisée is a lesser-hyped watch from the Must de Cartier line—Cartier’s initiative to democratise luxury with more affordable watches in 20-micron gold-plated 925 sterling silver (“Vermeil”), cutting back on the use of gold, but still very much full precious metal. The design is distinct from, and as distinctive as Tanks, with circular cases (inspired by Roman colosseums), T-bar lugs and the unmistakable cabochon-ed crowns. Very timeless, especially in this particular variant with a light cream egg-shelled dial, blued sword hands and oh-so-Cartier Roman numerals. Paired with a beaded bracelet, the vibe is jewelry-adjacent, but we are including an original Cartier leather strap and buckle for times when you might want a more subdued presentation. Fantastic value that belies a less common, but very classical Cartier!
CONDITION:
9/10 with just a few hairlines on an otherwise original and un-refinished case. Crystal, dial, hands and cabochon are pristine. Caseback hallmarks and engravings deep and crisp. Aftermarket plated bracelet is brand new. Included original Cartier strap (worn) and Cartier buckle (very good). Movement in excellent health and quartz-accurate.
