Cartier Tank Must de Cartier Vermeil Champagne LM Ref. 590005 (circa 1991)
Cartier Tank Must de Cartier Vermeil Champagne LM Ref. 590005 (circa 1991)
WHY WE CURATED IT:
By now this watch is pure legend. It’s thought that Cartier made accessible versions of the Tank Louis Cartier, the most iconic and classic dress watch ever, because everyone “Must” own a Tank (hence “Must de Cartier”). More affordable, but still in luxurious 925 silver with thick 20 micron gold plating. This particular variant is probably one of the most classic LM-sized ones, with roman numerals, a lacquered champagne dial to match the gold case, blued sword hands and a bright blue cabochon on the crown. In superb condition, with original Cartier buckle, Cartier strap and full set of box and papers.
CONDITION:
9/10, with barely visible signs of use. Crystal is clean, as are the hands, crown and cabochon. Lacquered dial has light spotting and spidering, way less than normal and imperceptible unless pointed out and then re-examined. In any case, this indicates that the dial has not been replaced and all printing is clean and perfectly intact. Light hairlines on the caseback with deep and sharp engravings and hallmarks. Aftermarket strap and Cartier buckle are in barely-used state. Movement in excellent health and is quartz-accurate.
