WHY WE CURATED IT: Haven’t had one of these in a while but finally found another good one! We’ve had a few Longines Octagons in different sizes, dials, lug styles and aspect ratios. They’ve been very popular on account of their beauty, elegance and affordability. This reference has a larger case that’s longer than it is wide, with crab claw/rear-hooded lugs, feuille hands, cabochon-ed crown and broader strap. Also, as it’s a later iteration of the Octagons, you get the bonus of a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. The dial variant is the lacquered black gilt with Roman numerals. A beautiful classic that never fails to delight!
CONDITION: 9/10, with minimal hairlines. Lacquered dial, gilt printing, hands, crown cabochon and crystal are pristine. Longines buckle in similarly excellent condition and fitted to a new aftermarket strap. Caseback has crisp engravings. Movement excellent with to-spec power reserve, strong amplitude, low beat error and accuracy within ±5 secs/day averaged from 6 timegrapher positions.
