WHY WE CURATED IT: Before Speedmasters, the most notable Omegas were the flagship Constellations. A collector favourite: Omega’s first-ever chronometers to reach mass production (all Constellations are chronometers); the caseback emblem features 8 stars signifying 8 awards Omega won prior; and Gerald Genta designed these 3rd iterations dubbed “C” (the case sides resembling two mirrored Cs). A distinct style with great sporty presence pre-dating Seiko turtles. The variant here is from the late 60s, the second C variant with an updated calibre, flat bezel, silver sunburst dial and larger faceted indices with onyx bars. Serviced and warrantied, a solid performer with the legendary 500-series calibre. A real bargain due to the wabi-sabi but original condition.
CONDITION: 7.5/10 with hairlines and small nicks on what might be an unpolished case with distinct bevels and lines. Great original canvas for a light polish if you’d like but honestly we’d leave it as is out of respect for the life it’s led. Original signed crown. Original signed crystal with minimal hairlines visible only under a loupe. Hands and appliqués are clean. Dial has honest microscopic aging and some mild staining. Caseback has hairlines but the emblem relief is deep and crisp. New aftermarket strap and buckle. Professionally serviced in Oct 2024 with a 6-month mechanical warranty, in good health and accurate to ±15 secs/day averaged from 5 timegrapher positions.
