WHY WE CURATED IT:
The De Ville line holds a special place in Omega history. Originally a sub-collection within Seamasters, it diverged into a standalone line by 1967, offering more refinement vs the brand’s increasingly sport-oriented catalogue. Over time, it even became the platform for many Omega firsts, such as their first co-axial escapement and first anti-magnetic central tourbillon. Within dress De Villes, we can’t get enough of these ultra-thin, crown-less “Ellipses”. Here we have an absolutely beautiful gold-plated example in beautiful condition, with a gorgeous anthracite sunburst dial. The combination is nothing short of luscious! The pushbutton-setting movement negates the need for a line-disrupting crown. With its original Omega lizard skin strap and Omega buckle. At once classical, modern, minimalist, and elegant. Over 40 years old, but one would never guess looking at it on your wrist.
CONDITION:
9.5/10, with hardly any signs of use. Crystal and dial are clean. Markers and hands have minor aging, with some small scratches on the hour hand. Original Omega strap is used but with plenty of life remaining. Original Omega buckle. Movement is healthy and quartz-accurate.
