WHY WE CURATED IT:
The De Ville line holds a special place in Omega history. Originally a sub-collection within Seamasters, it diverged into a standalone line by 1967, offering more refinement vs the brand’s increasingly sport-oriented catalogue. Over time, it also became the chosen platform for key technical milestones, such as Omega’s first co-axial escapement and first anti-magnetic central tourbillon. Here, this De Ville was one of the earliest recipients of the Cal. 1010, Omega’s big push to modernise their mechanical movements in the face of the quartz revolution, with hacking seconds, quickset date and an architecture made for serviceability. In a stoic ellipse case with a stepped bezel; bold and masculine, yet classy and elegant.
