WHY WE CURATED IT:
A very uncommon Patek with little known beyond the ref number and a striking “TV case”. Sometimes referred to as “Gondola Gemma” but we are skeptical as those are very different. When they do show up, they’re mostly with silver/champagne/golden dials, a couple in blue, but never before in this very rare matte dark grey dial (if you find any others, please let us know!). An absolute stunner on the wrist—perfectly proportioned, ultra-thin, with magnificent light play from that beautifully textured 18K white gold integrated bracelet. From an era when bold shapes and minimalist lines were the design zeitgeist of the day. Equally adept at dressy and casual occasions, and exceptional value compared to any other models, even Calatravas and Ellipses. Not to be overlooked!
CONDITION:
9/10, with few signs of wear, mostly on the caseback. On-wrist presentation easily “like new” and we struggle to find noteworthy issues to call out. Case appears unpolished with symmetrical, sharp, untouched lines and finishing transitions. Crystal and dial pristine. Small signs of aging on the index printing and hands. Original Calatrava Cross-signed crown and bracelet. Movement in fair health, not serviced, as we think the buyer would want to send this to Patek for a service plus extract from the archives package to lock in the long term value. We would certainly do so if it was us. Currently running with very strong power reserve and amplitude, high beat error and accurate to ±30 secs/day averaged from 6 timegrapher positions.
