WHY WE CURATED IT:
My first ever vintage Rolex was an OysterDate Precision; a model I continue to keep an eye out for until today. It’s the epitome of the simple, no-nonsense, dependable, understated Oyster that used to be the essence of a basic Rolex; capturing the spirit of an era that formed the success of Rolex. This is the “34mm” version (actually 35mm), traditionally considered the “men’s size” back in the day when watches were more elegant and discreet. With the original T-Swiss-T matte black dial and gold hands and indices. Absolutely exquisite on the wrist, full of the vintage understated heyday Rolex feels and not what’s considered a “typical” blingy Rolex today. Comes with box and papers, rare for this reference!
CONDITION:
8.5/10, with minimal hairlines and one tiny nick. Original signed crown. Dial has small signs of natural aging along with the hands and indices. Lume plots intact and respond correctly to UV for age. Original crystal has microscopic marks and edge dimpling with no impediment to a clear view of the dial. Period correct bracelet shows signs of previous polishing but in excellent condition with minimal stretch. Movement in great shape with near-spec power reserve, strong amplitude, low beat error and accurate to ±5 secs/day averaged from 6 timegrapher positions.
