WHY WE CURATED IT:
Followers will know our love for UG. Once a high-end brand, crushed by the quartz era, but on the verge of revival under Breitling. Beyond hyped models like Polerouters/Tri-Compax are underrated dressy treasures like this, waiting to be snagged at amazing value. In this case, a stunning Tank-adjacent UG but very angular… like 90°-corners-everywhere angular. And of course, the star of the show is that vibrant and richly striated Tiger’s Eye dial! We’re borderline willing to call this reference rare as we weren’t able to find anything about it anywhere (please let us know if you’ve seen another example!). Absolutely striking on the wrist… elegant and demure, yet assertive in stance. Serviced and with a 6-month mechanical warranty.
CONDITION:
8.5/10 with small signs of use, a lot less than expected from a watch of this vintage. Microscopic marks on the crystal. Hands and markers have some oxidisation. Small lines on the dial which could be cracks or natural inclusions, but we can’t be certain even under magnification as there’s no loss of structural integrity. In any case, barely discernible against that backdrop of patterns, streaks and lines. New aftermarket strap and buckle. Movement serviced and warrantied with to-spec power reserve, good amplitude, low beat error and running ±20 secs/day averaged from 6 timegrapher positions.
