WHY WE CURATED IT:
Warm silver-dialed version of the UG White Shadow “Ellipse”. Equipped with an in-house quartz calibre, made in small numbers at the end of the model’s lifecycle in late-stage UG. A time capsule of the brand’s last-ditch attempt to join the quartz revolution and even rarer than the microrotor automatics! Not a rip-off of Patek’s Ellipse, but this Genta-designed gem actually preceded and inspired Patek to follow suit years later. An unsung hero of UG history, but now the target of collectors who are done with overhyped Polerouters, Tri-Compax and Nina Rindts. Looks and feels more expensive than it is and perfect as a daily or occasional fancy piece. Followers will know our love for UG. Once a top-tier brand, now on the verge of revival under Breitling.
CONDITION:
9/10, with minimal signs of use/aging for the age. Original signed crown. Crystal is scratch-/nick-free, with pristine dial, indices and hands. A small imperfection that’s easy to overlook on the wrist when 99% of everything else has such exquisite presentation. Movement in excellent health and quartz-accurate.
