WHY WE CURATED IT: A stunning, ultra-thin, early 70s Holy Trinity piece. VC is one of the oldest haute horlogerie brands in the world with an uninterrupted history since 1755 and this watch is a time capsule of some of its last dials signed “Vacheron & Constantin” for the Vacheron family x François Constantin partnership (the ampersand would be dropped forever soon after). 18K white gold case, supple integrated “clous de paris” white gold bracelet, and that spectacularly rich blue lapis lazuli stone dial. Within this 4.5mm-thin watch is the impossibly wafer-like 1.64mm, Geneva Hallmarked Calibre 1003 which was proudly reissued by the brand in 2015 and remains one of the thinnest in the world still. This is one of those pieces where discussions of mere beauty can never overshadow the inimitable feel of something truly special on the wrist. Probably the lowest-priced in the world and not to be missed (ask us for pricing comps!).
CONDITION: 8.5/10, with some signs of wear. Lapis stone dial remains in original state with full structural integrity, natural wabi-sabi imperfections, and unique inclusions that only nature can craft. Clean crystal and hands. Clear engravings and hallmarks remain throughout and appears to be unpolished. Movement has received a light “clean and lube” and performing very well with above-spec power reserve, good amplitude, negligible beat error and accurate to ±20 secs/day averaged from 6 timegrapher positions.
