WHY WE CURATED IT:
Hailing from the same family as the various Longines Octagons we’ve had, but this one’s a little different with a circular case and fixed wire lugs. How ironic that a round watch is the less commonly seen one! The star of the show is an even-less-common, gorgeous rich blue lacquer sector dial with latticework texture, gilt dial text and hands with san-serif arabic numeral markers. The first one we’ve found! We don’t know if we’ll find another one of these in good condition so its new owner will have the pleasure of a classical, affordable, elegant beauty that’s unlikely to be seen on someone else’s wrist. Serviced and warrantied.
CONDITION:
8.5/10, with some hairlines and micro-nicks but no wear-down or flaking of the gold material. Lacquered dial has no spidering that we can see. Gilt printing and hands are clean. Crystal has a couple of very fine hairlines. Caseback has crisp engravings. Original signed crown. Movement serviced with a 6-month warranty, in excellent condition with over-spec power reserve, strong amplitude, negligible beat error and accurate to ±5 secs/day averaged from 6 timegrapher positions.
