WHY WE CURATED IT: It’s hard not to label any square- or rectangular-biased watch as a “Tank”. That’s how pervasive those little Cartiers have become in our subconscious. In truth, this strikes me as a cross between a Tank and a Panthere. Totally debatable of course, but I’ll refrain from further Cartier references. I will instead call this a lovely square with a bit of a cushion case. Wears a lot like a Tank (oops, sorry)… I mean an elegant squarish watch with leaf hands and elongated roman markers on a golden dial. One of a myriad De Ville variants from Omega and a very fetching one at that. Manual-winding, in good condition and at a good price. Get this and Tank me later. Oops, sorry again.
CONDITION: 8.5/10, without much signs of use. A few hairlines but hardly perceptible unless you go looking for them. Crystal, dial, hands and cabochon are pristine. Sharp finishing transitions on the caseback. Brand new aftermarket strap and buckle. Movement in excellent health with to-spec power reserve, strong amplitude, low beat error and accurate to +/-30 secs/day averaged from 5 timegrapher positions.
