Omega De Ville “Tonneau” Anthracite Dial Ref. 191.0099 (circa 1982)
Omega De Ville “Tonneau” Anthracite Dial Ref. 191.0099 (circa 1982)
WHY WE CURATED IT:
If this classy “tonneau” Omega had pores, sophistication would be dripping out of them. Beautifully proportioned, with a warm anthracite sunburst dial that really sets off the gilt text, applied indices and pencil hands. In this particular reference, the gold-plating is a thick 20 microns. There’s no crown (just a single pusher), both an Omega statement on accuracy and infrequent need for adjustment, and a nod to minimalism. A lovely, seldom-seen dial for this reference (they’re usually variations of champagne). If you want an affordable dress piece from a respected luxury brand, for those fancier elegant evenings, it doesn’t get much better than this.
