WHY WE CURATED IT:
Gerald Genta famously designed the Royal Oak, Nautilus and Polerouter. But his portfolio included other course-altering gems like this. When Omega was hit bad by the Quartz Revolution and needed reinvention, Genta was enlisted to help it hit different. Launched in 1981, this was an Omega landmark for head-turning creativity and materials innovation, evolving into the “pre-Bond” SMP 200M and beyond. Features an integrated bracelet and 2mm thick 18k gold inlay, so seamlessly fused into the steel case it’s downright sorcery. Omega never revealed the secret to how this was done, and probably never will. This is our 2nd Polaris, and this version is the sublime-wearing 32mm (wears like a 35), time and date only, ultra-thin dressier version. When all your friends are flexing the usual sports suspects, rock out something they’ve never seen, with real character. A conversation piece as much as it is a sports piece. My fav of this drop.
