Seiko Dolce “Art Deco” 10K Gold Ref. 6020-5960 (circa 1981)

WHY WE CURATED IT:
A special find for those who’ve discovered the joys of Seiko Dolce, launched at the height of Seiko’s quartz conquest. Loved for their elegance, refinement and myriad shapes, dials and materials. This example is all that… an ultra-slim, elongated octagonal watch, dripping with art deco vibes. The case is 10K gold-capped (a gold alloy hardier than 14K or 18K, in a more subdued yellow) with ridges on the four corners. The dial is the star of the show, with a subtle floral embossed pattern adorning the matte anthracite surface, an appliqué brushed golden ring for the roman numerals and minute track, topped with golden Breguet hands. Uses a high-grade 6020 calibre shared with Credors. The caseback is signed with the more desirable Suwa logo, the factory producing finer pieces such as Grand Seikos. Just exquisite!

CONDITION:
8/10, with some hairlines/scuffs and tiny nicks on the case, crown and cabochon. Crystal is perfectly clean. Crown, cabochon, dial and hands have microscopic signs of aging. Caseback has shallow dimples but crisp engravings. Used aftermarket strap and buckle in excellent condition. Movement in excellent health and quartz-accurate.
