WHY WE CURATED IT:
An increasingly popular series from Tiffany & Co, clearly inspired by Daniel Roth’s double-ellipse cases which debuted in 1989. There’s unconfirmed speculation that Roth may have had a hand in this watch, given his long relationship with Tiffany which began in the 80s when he was Technical Director of Breguet (at that time solely retailed in America by Tiffany). Whatever the link, these Mark Coupes iterate on Roth cases with their own details and multi-level finishing, as well as improved fit from curved casebacks, crystals, and prominently downturned lugs. Substantial wrist presence thanks to strong lugs and exquisite profile details that are architectural in their layering. On the wrist, feels dressy yet sporty, luxurious yet understated. This particular variation is the small size, with a classical petite seconds subdial for added visual interest, that lovely slinky 7-link bracelet, and we’re throwing in a bonus strap!
CONDITION:
9.5/10, with just minimal hairlines, mainly on the bracelet and sides of the lugs. Top surfaces of the watch head are clean. Easily the best one of at least 5 Mark Coupes we’ve curated so far. Crystal, dial and hands are pristine. Movement in excellent health and is quartz-accurate.
