WHY WE CURATED IT:
It doesn’t get more classic than this. An extra-plat (French for ultra-thin), round gold-plated case with deeply textured sunburst champagne dial (strong light- and shadow-play), bold Roman numerals and mechanical movement. Wears with palpable presence due to the broad flat lugs and large dial, despite what the dimensions suggest. Altesse means highness or royalty in French, and we can totally get behind the name choice, reflecting how you might feel with this on. Followers will know our love for UG. Once a high-end brand, crushed by the quartz era, but on the verge of revival under Breitling. Beyond hyped models like Polerouters/Tri-Compax are simple, dressy treasures like this, waiting to be discovered at amazing value.
