WHY WE CURATED IT:
An exceptional find… a crime if we didn’t snag it for you! It’s thought that Cartier made accessible versions of the Tank Louis Cartier, the most iconic and classic dress watch ever, because everyone “Must” own a Tank (hence “Must de Cartier”). More affordable, but still in luxurious 925 silver with thick 20 micron gold plating. Over 90% are quartz, but this one’s manual-wind and even more rarely, in killer condition, full set, with original strap and buckle! A quintessential vintage dress watch that will never go out of style. Like, ever.
CONDITION:
Conservatively 9/10. Stellar case, no deep scratches/dents/flaking/peeling. Deep and crisp engravings/hallmarks. Clean crystal/cabochon/hands. Lacquered dial has the slightest spidering; a lot less than common for this vintage. Needs bright lights, magnification and specific angles to be seen. Spidering is often appreciated as patina character, indicates original vs replaced dials and rewards keen enthusiasts upon close inspection. Included original Cartier buckle has minor hairlines, and original Cartier strap is worn. Movement in very good health with excellent power reserve and accurate to +/-20 secs/day dial up.
