Longines “Octagon” Black Gilt Romans Ref. 3209 (circa 1980s)

WHY WE CURATED IT:
A return of one of our best sellers… a deserving crowd favourite! We’ve had a few Longines Octagons in different sizes, dials, lug styles and aspect ratios. All stellar choices on account of their beauty, elegance and affordability. This one’s the large version that’s longer than it is wide, with crab claw/rear-hooded lugs, feuille hands, cabochon-ed crown and broader strap. Also, as it’s a later iteration of the Octagons, you get the bonus of a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. The dial variant is the lacquered black gilt with Roman numerals. Serviced, with warranty. For everyone who’s been saying they’re never quick enough to snag theirs, come and get it!

CONDITION:
9/10, with minimal hairlines and nicks. Gilt printing, hands and crown cabochon are pristine. Crystal and dial have a few fine specks that present like microscopic dust. Caseback has crisp engravings. Movement serviced with a 6-month warranty. Excellent performance with over-spec power reserve, strong amplitude, low beat error and accuracy within ±5 secs/day averaged from 6 timegrapher positions.
