Longines Vogue “Sympathie” 925 Silver Ref. 3260 (Circa 1980s)

WHY WE CURATED IT:
We hardly use “rare” in our listings, but this time it’s 100% justified. For this 925 sterling silver version, perhaps ultra-rare might be more accurate. Since eyeing this reference years ago, we’ve only seen 3 or 4 past silver examples out there. And none had resurfaced, until now. Pretty sure it’s the only one in the market today (let us know if you’ve found another!). “Sympathie” is the nickname watch world gave this case model, as it clearly inspired high-end indie Roger Dubuis’ Sympathie line some 20 years later. It was not designed by him as some claim; Longines have confirmed that to us in writing. Originally from the 70s but this late iteration is likely from the 80s with an updated case, lugs and sapphire crystal. Wears even better than every other Longines “Octagon” or “Sympathie” we’ve had. Utterly gorgeous and with deep collector-cred. In stunning condition both cosmetically and mechanically. This is peak Longines Octagon collectability, not to be missed!

CONDITION:
9.5/10 with minimal marks on silver case/buckle. Dial, blued spade hands, crystal pristine. Crisp caseback serial engraving. Original Longines strap used but a new aftermarket one is included. Movement is in exceptional health with to-spec power reserve, strong amplitude, negligible beat error, ±5 secs/day averaged from 6 timegrapher positions.
