Omega Seamaster Cosmic “Frosty Day Date" Ref. 166.036 (circa 1960s)

WHY WE CURATED IT:
Seamaster Cosmics are perhaps the most overlooked and best value sub-models of Seamasters, especially when equipped with the dependable 75x-series calibres (shared with chronometer Constellations). Cosmics came about during the Space Race of the 60s and embodied the future-looking design zeitgeist of the era. Here we have a very nice one in a crisp “C” cushion-style “turtle” case with superb wearability and a large frosty silver textured dial so it presents more substantially than what the dimensions suggest. Wonderfully versatile and looks fantastic with various straps, easily paired for either vintage or sporty vibes as your mood dictates. Serviced and warrantied for 6 months.

CONDITION:
8/10, with some visible signs of wear. Original Omega-signed crystal has some microscopic marks visible only under magnification and intense light but normal viewing is spotless to the naked eye. Dial, hands and markers have small signs of aging. Lume plots have aged away on the hands, but they are small to begin with and not very noticeable. Original signed crown. Clear engravings remain on the caseback. New aftermarket strap and buckle. Movement in great health, serviced and warrantied, with strong power reserve and amplitude, excellent self-winding efficiency, low beat error and accurate to ±15 secs/day averaged from 6 timegrapher positions.
