WHY WE CURATED IT:
The De Ville line holds a special place in Omega history. Originally a sub-collection within Seamasters, it diverged into a standalone line by 1967, offering more refinement vs the brand’s increasingly sport-oriented catalogue. Over time, it even became the platform for many Omega firsts, such as their first co-axial escapement and first anti-magnetic central tourbillon. This example is from the few short years when it was still signed “Seamaster De Ville”. The original prominently domed, vertically brushed silver dial has taken on a warm hue, as has the date wheel, together transmitting all the vintage vibes one needs in a watch. Comes with the original Omega flat multi-link “beads of rice” bracelet, an uncommon find today. In remarkable condition for a watch 60 years old and ready to be enjoyed and preserved for at least 60 more.
CONDITION:
8.5/10, with some small hairlines, scuffs and nicks consistent with careful honest wear over 6 decades. No-lume dial is exceptionally clean for the age with clean multi-faceted indices. Hands have small signs of aging. Crystal likely replaced at some point in the past and clean. Original signed crown. Original BOR Omega bracelet has normal stretch for the age but therefore great comfort as well. Movement in excellent health, with to-spec power reserve, strong amplitude, low beat error and accurate to ±15 secs/day averaged from 6 timegrapher positions.
