WHY WE CURATED IT:
A white-dial, Roman-numeral version of the Genta-designed White Shadow “Ellipse”, with an automatic microrotor calibre (the thinnest at the time). Both allegedly templates for Patek’s own versions years later. Beware: people may think it’s a Patek Ellipse at a glance, and you may have to school them that this was the OG. Probably the most classic, neutral version that goes with anything. As with all White Shadows, the wearing experience is that unique ultra-thin, cuff-like feel. And every time you catch it in the corner of your eye, it reminds you how it looks more expensive than it really was. Followers will know our love for UG. Once a high-end brand, crushed by the quartz era, but on the verge of revival under Breitling. Beyond hyped models like Polerouters/Tri-Compax are treasures like this, waiting to be discovered at amazing value. Serviced and warrantied.
CONDITION:
9/10, with minimal signs of use. Original signed crown. Crystal is scratch-/nick-free. The dial has some subtle aging along the right edge, but is otherwise pristine. Integrated bracelet has zero stretch. Movement is serviced with a 6-month warranty, in stellar condition with strong power reserve and amplitude, low beat error and accurate to ±10 secs/day averaged from 5 timegrapher positions.
